The FinCoNet Annual General Meeting was held on 11-12 November 2020, via a virtual meeting platform. The AGM was followed by an International Seminar on Creditworthiness Assessments, on 13 November 2020. The Seminar was held over three sessions, the first setting the scene of supervisory approaches to creditworthiness assessments. The second session explored the use of AI in assessing creditworthiness, what are the right checks and balances? The third and final session discussed developments and challenges regarding creditworthiness assessments, including in light of COVID-19.Learn more

On 13-14 November 2019, the International Financial Consumer Protection Organisation (FinCoNet) held its Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Rome, hosted by the Central Bank of Italy. Representatives from 31 jurisdictions around the world, as well as international organisations, participated in the AGM. The meeting was held back-to-back with an international seminar on behavioural insights for conduct supervision co-sponsored by FinCoNet and the Central Bank of Italy, focussing on key insights and experiences from academics and supervisory authorities alike.Learn more

On 6-7 November 2018, the International Financial Consumer Protection Organisation (FinCoNet) held its Annual General Meeting in Brasilia, hosted by the Central Bank of Brazil. Representatives from twenty three supervisory authorities from around the world, as well as international organisations, participated in the AGM. The meeting was held concurrently with the fourth Financial Citizenship Forum of the Central Bank of Brazil, and followed by an International Seminar on the topic of Open Banking on 8 November 2018, addressing developments, issues and challenges in this space from a supervisory perspective.Learn more

On 14-15 November 2017 the International Financial Consumer Protection Organisation (FinCoNet) held its Annual General Meeting 2017 in Tokyo, Japan. Twenty-two supervisory authorities as well as three observers to the Organisation participated in the AGM, together with five invited authorities from Asia. The meeting was followed by an International Seminar on Virtual Currencies, organised in cooperation with the Financial Services Agency, Government of Japan, addressing the challenges these pose to supervisory authorities from a financial consumer protection perspective.Learn more

The International Financial Consumer Protection Organisation (FinCoNet) announced the appointment of its new Chair and Vice Chair at its Annual Meeting held in Jakarta, Indonesia. Ms Lucie Tedesco, the Commissioner of the Financial Consumer Agency of Canada, was elected as Chair of FinCoNet for the next three years to lead the future growth and development of the organisation. FinCoNet also announced the appointment of Ms Maria Lucia Leitão, Head of Banking Conduct Supervision Department of the Banco de Portugal to the position of Vice Chair.Learn more
